SANAA, Aug. 23 (YPA) – An officer from the so-called “Mine Action Center” was killed Thursday when a bomb went off while he was trying to dismantle it in the southern port city of Aden.
“Colonel Engineer Abdullah Ali Sarhan was killed while trying to dismantle a time bomb planted on a street in Sheikh Othman district,” said a statement issued by the center.
The blast resulted also in wounding four of the center employees, the statement added.
For three years, the city of Aden has been witnessing a security chaos, which has risen over the past few months.
Earlier the day, the city witnessed the killing of an officer in Dar Saad area, in addition to two soldiers from the so-called the presidential protection forces, whose bodies were found after being kidnapped by gunmen a week ago.
Moreover, a young man was killed at a checkpoint in the city late on Wednesday.
