Youth Minister receives MoU from WSAIGO’s secretary-general

SANAA, Aug. 18 (YPA) – Minister of Youth and Sports in the Salvation Government, Hassan Zaid, on Saturday received a MoU from Secretary General of the World Sports Alliance Intergovernmental Organization (WSAIGO) on activating Yemen’s position in the alliance.

The memorandum, handed over by representative of Secretary-General of the WSAIGO in Yemen, Dr. Fathi al-Saqqaf, underlines the importance of activating the agreement signed between Yemen and the Alliance.

The agreement includes the training of trainers to combat poverty, support health and peace, as well as the establishment of infrastructure and youth training centers on sustainable development.

In the meeting, the minister confirmed his ministry’s keenness to activate the agreement terms in practice.

For his part, Dr. al-Saqqaf pointed to the importance of activating this agreement in view of Yemen’s need for the eight millennium goals.

He praised the interest of the Ministry of Youth and Sports in supporting sports festivals and its participation in the scientific events, as well as its support for the national youth centers and athletes.
