Dozens of civilians killed in coalition’s bombing on Hodeidah

HODEIDAH, Aug. 14 (YPA) – Dozens of civilians, including children and women, were killed on Tuesday as a result of a missile and artillery bombing by the Saudi-led coalition forces on al-Durihemi district of Hodeidah province.

“The coalition’s battleships bombed citizens’ houses and shops and mosques overnight in al-Durihemi city and the bombardment continued until the day,” the Ministry of Public Health and Population said in a statement.

The statement noted that “the US-Saudi coalition warplanes and warships continued the bombarment, preventing ambulances from entering the city to rescue the wounded.”

The ministry also called on the International Committee of the Red Cross and the World Health Organization to take responsibility for what is taking place in al-Durihemi, and to move quickly to transfer the wounded children, women and citizens to hospitals in the city of Hodeidah.

On Monday, five member of one family, including 3 children, were killed in a Saudi-led air strike on al-Ashraf area in Hodeidah province.
