Palestinian wounded as Zionist forces continue ceasefire violations in Gaza

GAZA, Oct. 19 (YPA) – A Palestinian was wounded by Israeli fire south of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip on Monday, as Zionist forces continued detonating explosive robots east of Gaza City, Palestinian sources reported.

Israeli naval boats fired shells into the sea off Gaza City early Monday, while Israeli military vehicles opened heavy fire south of Khan Younis, the sources said.

On Sunday, a girl was killed and several Palestinians, including displaced people and fishermen, were wounded by Israeli fire and shelling in various parts of the Gaza Strip.

The attacks also involved artillery shelling and the demolition of homes, in further violations of the ceasefire agreement signed in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, on Oct. 10, 2025, under Arab and US mediation.

A displaced Palestinian was wounded by Israeli fire in the al-Sikka area of Khan Younis, while another was seriously wounded east of al-Masdar village in central Gaza.

Two fishermen were also wounded by shrapnel from a bomb fired by an Israeli drone at a fishing boat off al-Shati camp, west of Gaza City.

Israeli forces opened heavy fire toward displacement tents near Hamad City, north of Khan Younis. Military vehicles also targeted tents and homes south of Khan Younis and west of Rafah, while artillery shelling hit northeastern areas of Khan Younis.

In northern and central Gaza, eastern Gaza City, the al-Tuffah neighborhood and areas near Jabalia refugee camp came under artillery shelling and fire from Israeli military cranes.

Gaza’s Health Ministry said that hospitals had received seven bodies, including one that had been recovered, and 25 injured people over the previous 24 hours.

The ministry added the death toll since the ceasefire took effect on Oct. 11, 2025, had reached 1,517, with 5,400 people injured. The bodies of 839 people had also been recovered.

The overall death toll since the start of Israel’s offensive on the Gaza Strip has risen to 74,475, with 175,517 people injured.
