WASHINGTON, Oct. 14 (YPA) – US human rights organizations have called on members of Congress to intervene urgently and exert pressure to halt US support for “Israel,” following footage showing a Palestinian woman burning inside her home in Gaza City while her young daughter was trapped amid the flames.
The calls came after a video circulated widely across the United States documenting the aftermath of an Israeli attack on a residential apartment in Gaza City. The attack killed at least one Palestinian woman, as residents attempted to rescue people trapped inside the home.
The organizations said the footage reflects the scale of the humanitarian suffering endured by Palestinian civilians and raises questions about the continued US support for “Israel” amid the killing of women and children.
They urged members of both the House of Representatives and the Senate to condemn the attack, call for an end to US support for Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip, and hold those responsible for violations against civilians accountable.
