Union warns of plan to expand main entry gate for incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque

QUDS, Oct. 14 (YPA) – The Union of Institutions Working for Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque warned on Wednesday that extremist Temple groups, under Israeli protection, were moving to expand the main gate used for incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.

The union described the move as a serious escalation, warning that it marked a new phase in efforts to impose a new reality on the ground and advance the Judaization of the mosque.

It stressed that tampering with the mosque’s gates and entrances was not a mere construction project, but a direct attack on its identity and historical and legal status.

The move, it said, was intended to facilitate further incursions and tighten Israeli control over one of Islam’s holiest sites in Palestine.

The union held the Israeli occupation authorities responsible for the consequences and urged Arab and Islamic countries to act immediately to stop the escalation before it became a fait accompli that would be difficult to reverse.
