Civil aviation authority organizes rally after 2 years since shutting down Sanaa Intel’s airport
SANAA, Aug. 11 (YPA) – The general authority for civil aviation and meteorology and international Sanaa airport on Saturday organized rally on the occasion of two years since the shutting down of the airport by the Saudi-led coalition.
In the rally, attended by officials and employees of the authority and airport, Deputy of transport minister Abdullah al-Ansy said that the airport was targeted systematically by the coalition airstrikes to paralyze its movement and shut it down on Aug. 9, 2016 to isolate Yemen from other world countries.
“Shutting down the airport affected all Yemeni people categories, especially patients with chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart, renal failure and students sent to study abroad,” he said, calling on the UN security council to lift the siege imposed on the airport.
