Two pro-Saudi faction leaders killed in clashes with Sanaa forces in Taiz, Kahbub

TAIZ, Sept. 19 (YPA) – Several members of pro-Saudi factions, including prominent commanders, were killed on Saturday during clashes with Sanaa forces in the Kahbub mountain range overlooking the Bab al-Mandab Strait, and in the Al-Maqatirah district south of Taiz governorate.

According to sources, Yassin Al-Juhafi, Chief of Staff of the 13th ‘Al-Amaliqa’ Brigade, was killed by Sanaa forces’ fire in Kahbub. Additionally, Muhanad Saleh Al-Julaidi, a battalion commander in the Islah party-affiliated 4th Brigade, along with three of his escorts, were killed after their military vehicle was targeted in the lower part of Hayjat Al-Abd in Al-Maqatirah district, while others sustained injuries.

These field developments coincide with Saudi Arabia deploying military reinforcements and modern equipment in an effort to retake the Thubab and Mocha areas, which Sanaa forces completely seized control of last week. This comes amid accusations against pro-Saudi leadership of pushing individuals from southern provinces into the clashes, despite the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) announcing last June that its forces would not participate alongside Saudi Arabia.

In a speech last Thursday, Sayyed Abdul-Malik al-Houthi emphasized that missile and drone strikes do not target the residents of the southern and eastern provinces, but rather focus on military mobilizations and Takfiri factions brought in by Saudi Arabia through those areas.
