Following abuse of female detainees, Ben-Gvir posts AI video mocking Palestinian prisoner starvation
OCCUPIED PALESTINE, Aug. 31 (YPA) – Following videos showing his interaction with female Palestinian detainees, Israeli occupation’s Far-Right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir continued displaying his prison policies by publishing an AI-generated video depicting the starvation and deprivation of basic rights of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli detention facilities.
Ben-Gvir shared the video across his social media accounts on Sunday with the caption “We Promised and Delivered,” referencing his stated policies aimed at reducing detainee living conditions to the minimum possible level.
The video begins with an artificial scene showing Palestinian prisoners smiling inside a courtroom following their sentencing, before food icons appear in front of them in a satirical depiction of the provisions they received in prison.
Subsequent scenes depict Ben-Gvir stripping these entitlements away, illustrating food deprivation and deteriorating physical conditions, culminating in images of emaciated prisoners who appeared healthy at the start of the video.
The publication comes hours after the Israeli minister posted another video from Damon Prison in northern the occupied Palestine, showing him interacting with female Palestinian detainees and discussing their detention conditions through an interpreter.
In the clip, one detainee stated that conditions were “very bad,” noting that prisoners were deprived of basic rights and necessities, adding that they had gone three days without showering, lacked access to medical treatment, and wore unclean clothes.
Ben-Gvir responded by boasting that “good conditions” in prisons had ended, declaring himself directly responsible and stating he was “pleased” with the situation while rejecting the detainees’ requests for improved conditions.
This is not the first instance of Ben-Gvir publishing footage from inside detention facilities to mock prisoners; in early August, he appeared in another video mocking a female detainee who complained about poor detention conditions and shortages of food and clean water, replying that “prison is not a hotel.”
