Saudi “Special Committee” releases AQAP chanter from Aden prison

ADEN, Aug. 29 (YPA) – The Saudi “Special Committee” in Aden has released a chanter belonging to Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) from a city prison, according to local sources.

Informed sources in the city stated that the Saudi committee released the AQAP chanter, known as “Abu Musab al-Adeni,” three years after his arrest by the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) forces.

The sources noted that “al-Adeni” had previously defected from Al-Qaeda to join ISIS, before defecting from ISIS in late 2016 to rejoin AQAP.

The release comes as part of reported arrangements between Saudi military leadership and militant figures in Hadramout, Marib, Shabwa, and Abyan. These individuals have reportedly been recruited in recent months into the “Emergency” and “Dera Al-Watan” units to fight against Sanaa forces.
