6.0 magnitude earthquake recorded in the Gulf of Aden

ADEN, Aug. 28 (YPA) – A 6.0-magnitude earthquake was recorded in the Gulf of Aden, about 173 kilometers off the Yemeni coast, according to the Seismological and Volcanological Observation Center.

In a statement issued earlier, the center stated that the strong quake was recorded at 12:07 p.m. at a shallow depth of 10 kilometers.

Earlier on Thursday, the center also recorded two minor tremors southwest of Ataq, the capital of Shabwa Governorate.
