SANAA, Aug. 25 (YPA) – The Yemeni capital, Sanaa, and several other provinces are preparing to celebrate the anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad’s birth, Mawlid al-Nabawi, on Tuesday.
Since the early morning hours, large crowds have been arriving from various districts and areas at designated venues for the celebrations.
The crowds have continued to gather at the celebration venues after completing preparations and arrangements over the past several days to welcome participants to the Mawlid festivities.
Meanwhile, Yemenis have their own traditions for celebrating the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday, known as Mawlid al-Nabawi. Ahead of the celebrations, people decorate their vehicles, while green lights adorn most streets across the capital, Sanaa.
At night, state facilities and public buildings across the capital are illuminated with green lights, creating an atmosphere of spirituality and tranquility.
