Palestinian woman wounded as Israeli occupation continues Gaza ceasefire violations

GAZA, Aug. 22 (YPA) – A Palestinian woman was wounded by Israeli gunfire early Saturday near al-Daawa Street, northeast of Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, as Israeli occupation forces continued to violate the ceasefire agreement.

Palestinian sources said Israeli forces shelled areas northeast of Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza.

In Khan Younis, southern Gaza, Israeli military vehicles opened heavy fire in the southern parts of the city. Israeli artillery also shelled areas southwest of Khan Younis.

Israeli artillery shells also hit a home belonging to the Abdul-Jawad and Safi families in the al-Amal neighborhood, west of Khan Younis.

The sources said Israeli forces fired illumination flares over al-Qarara, north of Khan Younis, and over areas south of the city.

Israeli artillery also shelled areas east of Gaza City.

Since the ceasefire took effect on October 11, 2025, around 1,300 Palestinians have been killed and thousands more injured. Hundreds of buildings and vital infrastructure across the Gaza Strip have also been destroyed.
