TAIZ, Aug. 16 (YPA) – Saudi-backed forces in the western Yemeni city of Mocha have been conducting a widespread arrest campaign targeting civilians in recent days.
The operation has reportedly included night raids on residential neighborhoods and buildings, resulting in the detention of dozens of young men who were taken to undisclosed holding facilities under allegations of sharing intelligence with Sanaa.
Local sources told the “Yemeni Press Agency” that armed units in military uniforms have surrounded homes and physically assaulted individuals who resisted detention. The forces reportedly accuse the detainees of monitoring military movements, equipment locations, and Saudi ammunition depots, as well as submitting reports to authorities in Sanaa.
These detentions follow recent offensive operations by Sanaa forces involving ballistic missiles and drones against military reinforcements and supply lines in the region.
