Sanaa launches project to build lightning protection towers

SANAA, Aug. 15 (YPA) – The Sanaa-based authorities began field preparations on Saturday to establish lightning protection towers in areas most vulnerable to thunderstorms, as part of preventive measures to protect lives and property.

Civil Defense teams conducted an engineering survey in Amad area of Eyial Suraih district of Amran province to identify suitable locations for the towers and assess the necessary technical requirements.

The Civil Defense Authority said construction of the towers is expected to begin in the coming period under its supervision, as part of efforts to strengthen safety measures and reduce potential losses from recurring lightning strikes.
