Mocha residents call for evacuating Saudi-backed military sites from residential areas

TAIZ, Aug. 15 (APA) – Tribes ad sheikhs, as well as and rights activists, in the coastal district of Mocha of Taiz province, have called on Saudi Arabia and its allied forces to immediately evacuate headquarters, military camps and weapons depots from residential neighborhoods inside the city.

The sheikhs and local dignitaries stressed the need to relocate military camps and weapons storage facilities outside the city to avoid potential attacks by Sanaa forces.

They warned that keeping military facilities in populated areas and converting civilian buildings into weapons depots poses a direct threat to residents’ lives.

The calls come amid growing public concerns over the potentially catastrophic consequences of storing weapons in basements of residential buildings.

They stressed the need to move such facilities away from population centers to protect residents and public and private property.
