Two people killed, two wounded injured in Shabwa tribal clashes

SHABWA, Aug. 04 (YPA) – Two people were killed and two others seriously injured on Tuesday as armed clashes erupted between the Al Basuwaid and Al Tawsali tribes in the Al-Maseena area of Al-Saeed district of Shabwa province.

Local sources said the fighting stemmed from a tribal dispute, leaving one member of each tribe dead. Two members of the Al Basuwaid tribe sustained serious injuries and were transferred to a medical facility for treatment.

The violence sparked concern among local residents, who urged local authorities, security forces, and tribal leaders to intervene quickly to contain the situation and prevent further escalation.

The incident comes amid recurring tribal disputes in parts of the province, with continued calls to strengthen the role of state institutions in addressing the root causes of such conflicts and enhancing security and stability.
