Two killed, one injured in armed attack in Yemen’s Hadramout

HADRAMAUT, July 29 (YPA) – Two people were killed and another injured on Wednesday in an armed attack in the city of Al-Raydah Al-Sharqiyah in Yemen’s eastern Hadramout province.

According to local sources and eyewitnesses, three armed men from Abyan travelling in a car opened fire on another man from Abyan near the city’s qat market, leaving him critically wounded.

The sources said the injured man sought help from two local residents travelling in the car to take him to hospital.

Witnesses said the three gunmen intercepted the vehicle en route and opened heavy fire, killing the original victim and one of the rescuers, identified as Saeed Saad bin Al-Arabi, while the second rescuer, Nawaf Al-Matri Al-Thaeini, was wounded.

Preliminary information indicates the attack stemmed from a tribal blood feud involving the initial victim and the assailants, all of whom are from Abyan province, according to the sources.
