Israeli occupation forces attack Lebanese army in Nabatieh

BEIRUT, July 21 (YPA) – The Lebanese Army announced on Tuesday that its units were fired upon by Israeli occupation forces while carrying out a deployment operation in the town of Zawtar al-Gharbiya in the Nabatieh Governorate of southern Lebanon.

In a statement, the army said on the “X” platform that the shooting occurred near the units during their deployment, stressing that this attack hinders the implementation of deployment steps in the pilot areas within the communications with the Lebanese Military Coordination Group.

The army had previously announced the start of the deployment of its units in the town in implementation of the pilot areas agreement with the Israeli side.
