Doctors Without Borders demands immediate release of detained Palestinian healthcare workers

GENEVA, July 20 (YPA) – Doctors Without Borders (MSF) called on Monday for the immediate release of all Palestinian healthcare workers arbitrarily detained by Israel.

In a post on its X platform, the organization stated that Dr. Hussam Abu Safieh, director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in the Gaza Strip, remains in solitary confinement a year and a half after his arrest.

MSF condemned the treatment of healthcare workers in Israeli prisons, emphasizing that the majority are held in appalling conditions without justification.

It added that Dr. Abu Safieh’s solitary confinement and reported torture are part of a systematic pattern of targeting medical personnel throughout Palestine.

The organization reiterated its support for global calls for the immediate release of all detained healthcare workers.
