IRGC strikes US radar, drone hangar at Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait

TEHRAN, July 20 (YPA) – Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on Monday that its forces had targeted several US military facilities at Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait.

The strike was part of the 22nd wave of Operation Nasr 2, carried out in retaliation for repeated US attacks on Iranian soil.

In a statement, the IRGC said the strike destroyed a US early-warning radar system, struck an aviation equipment warehouse and hit an MQ-9 drone hangar at the Ali al-Salem airbase in Kuwait.

Meanwhile, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said it continues to enforce the maritime blockade on Iran, adding that six commercial vessels had been redirected and another had been prevented from proceeding as of July 19 to ensure compliance with the blockade measures.

Tensions between Iran and the United States have intensified since the latest US strikes. Tehran has continued launching missile attacks in retaliation, while Washington has reinforced its military presence and vowed to continue its operations, amid international warnings that the conflict could expand and threaten maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz and the Gulf.
