Explosions rock Aqaba, Eilat following Iranian ballistic missile attack

OCCUPIED QUDS, July 19 (YPA) – Powerful explosions shook the vicinities of Aqaba and Eilat (Umm al-Rashrash) on Sunday following a ballistic missile attack launched by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Both Iran and Israeli occupation issued conflicting statements regarding the strikes and subsequent interceptions.

The IRGC announced that its Aerospace Force targeted Aqaba Airport with guided ballistic missiles, framing the operation as a response to threats against its national security. The statement affirmed precise hits on the targets and warned civilians to remain clear of the airport and nearby military facilities.

In response, the Israeli occupation military detected the incoming missiles and deployed air defense systems to intercept them, as smoke columns were seen rising over Aqaba. The Eilat municipality stated that the explosions resulted from interceptions carried out within Jordanian airspace, adding that alert levels remain unchanged with no new directives issued for the home front.
