Iran’s IRGC asserts full control over Strait of Hormuz, demands prior authorization for cargo ships

TEHRAN, July 19 (YPA) – The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that four vessels recently violated maritime navigation instructions in the Strait of Hormuz, reasserting its “full control” over the strategic waterway and warning that no oil, gas, or chemical fertilizer shipments will be permitted to pass without prior coordination and authorization.

According to an IRGC statement, two of the non-compliant vessels were involved in an unspecified incident after entering an unsafe lane, while the remaining two ships aborted their transit and turned back. The IRGC emphasized that maritime traffic must strictly adhere to designated safe lanes, warning that non-compliant vessels risk facing similar incidents.

In a related development, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf emphasized that unity and adherence to the directives of the Supreme Leader are essential prerequisites for strengthening domestic cohesion, achieving victory, and sustaining the resistance movement against hostile plans.
