TEHRAN, July 19 (YPA) –The Iranian Army carried out retaliatory drone strikes against two major US military facilities in Kuwait, Iran’s semi-official Mehr news agency reported.
According to Mehr, citing the Public Relations Office of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the strikes targeted ammunition warehouses at Camp al-Adiri and equipment and personnel shelters at the Ali al-Salem airbase.
It said the attacks were a response to “the violation of international treaties and the crimes of the arrogant enemy in civilian areas.”
The strike was part of 16th phase of retaliatory strikes earlier Sunday that also targeted ammunition and radar installations at the same two Kuwaiti bases.
The Iranian military strongly condemned recent US airstrikes that hit bridges, railways, and civilian facilities, resulting in multiple civilian casualties.
It added that, under the leadership of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, and with the unity of the armed forces, government, and Iranian people, it will continue its operations until “the deceitful enemy is defeated.”
