SANAA, July 17 (YPA) – Sanaa’s Defense Minister, Maj. Gen. Mohammed Al-Atefi, said the armed forces have raised their state of readiness and are fully prepared to carry out any directives issued by Sayyed Abdul-Malik al-Houthi if the blockade imposed on Yemen continues.
In a statement, Al-Atefi warned the Saudi-led coalition, particularly Saudi Arabia, against maintaining the blockade, stating that the armed forces’ options remain open and that they are prepared to implement the principle of blockade for blockade, airports for airports, and ports for ports.
He said the armed forces possess military capabilities capable of establishing deterrence, adding that Yemen, having endured years of conflict, is capable of continuing its resistance and achieving victory.
He also said the leadership would not allow the suffering caused by the blockade to continue.
The defense minister praised the support of Yemeni tribes for the armed forces, saying the Yemeni people remain united behind the leadership in confronting foreign intervention and securing the country’s legitimate rights.
Al-Atefi concluded by saying Saudi Arabia faces two options: lift the blockade and end its involvement in Yemen, or continue escalating the situation.
He warned that any escalation would be met with a reciprocal military response and would carry significant consequences for Riyadh.
