SANAA, July 17 (YPA) – Yemen’s National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning has forecast rain accompanied by thunderstorms, along with strong winds around the Socotra Archipelago, the Gulf of Aden, and the country’s eastern and southern coasts over the next 24 hours.
In its weather bulletin, the Center stated that rainfall of varying intensity, accompanied by thunder, is expected over the parts of Saada, Hajjah, Al-Mahwit, Amran, Raymah, Dhamar, Ibb, Taiz, and the highlands overlooking the Tihama Plain.
It also forecasted scattered showers, over parts of of the highlands of Sanaa, Dhalea, Al-Bayda, Lahj, Abyan, Shabwa, Hadramout, and Mahra.
The Center also expects active to strong winds around the Socotra Archipelago, the Gulf of Aden, and Yemen’s eastern and southern coastal areas.
It alerted citizens in areas where rain is expected about flash floods in ravines and valleys, advising them to avoid being in or crossing these paths during and after rainfall.
The Center further warned fishermen, seafarers, and ship captains of rough sea conditions and high waves in the affected maritime areas.
