Iran suspends Strait of Hormuz transit, mandates prior authorization for passage

TEHRAN, July 12 (YPA) – The Iranian Strait of Hormuz Management Authority confirmed on Sunday that transit through the strait remains suspended until further notice.

The authority noted that navigation is currently impermissible without obtaining prior authorization, citing what it described as illegal movements by US forces in the region.

It added that transit requests will be subject to review once conditions stabilize, urging shipping companies to monitor updates through its official platforms.
