NEW YORK, July 10 (YPA) – The United Nations said on Friday that the continued Israeli aggression against camps in the occupied West Bank, increasing restrictions on movement, demolitions, settlement expansion, and settler violence have led to the displacement of more Palestinians and exacerbated protection risks and restrictions on access to housing, livelihoods, and basic services.
In a statement, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) explained that demolitions since the beginning of this month have displaced 67 people and destroyed 24 structures, including two donor-funded ones.
It added that settler attacks and demolitions since the beginning of the year have displaced more than 3,200 Palestinians, an average of 17 people per day, double the daily average recorded during the previous three years.
In the Gaza Strip, OCHA quoted the World Central Kitchen as saying that Israeli occupation forces killed a driver working for one of its logistics partners while he was transporting aid from the Kerem Abu Salem crossing to the organization’s warehouse in Gaza, demanding a thorough investigation and accountability for those responsible.
The UN office reiterated the need to protect civilians and civilian infrastructure under international humanitarian law.
