Clashes renew on Yemen’s western coast, forcing Saudi-backed factions to withdraw

HODEIDA, July 06 (YPA) – Clashes and confrontations renewed on Monday between Sanaa forces and Saudi-backed factions on the Hays front along the Western Coast in Hodeida governorate.

This followed an attempt by the latter to reclaim positions lost during Sunday’s clashes, which ultimately forced them to withdraw toward the southern part of the Western Coast.

This escalation coincided with statements from factions loyal to the Saudi-led coalition regarding Saudi Arabia deploying new military reinforcements, after the “Al-Zaraniq” factions announced approximately 30 casualties (killed and wounded) among their ranks, alongside confirmations from Saudi media sources regarding the loss of positions there.

It is worth noting that the Western Coast represents the third front activated by Saudi Arabia in Yemen within weeks, following Dhalea and Jawf fronts. Meanwhile, no official comment has been issued by Sanaa regarding these events.
