Gaza civil defense begins second phase of operation to recover bodies from under rubble

GAZA, June 28 (YPA) – Palestinian civil defense crews in Gaza have started the second phase of an operation to recover bodies from beneath the rubble of buildings destroyed during Israel’s war on the enclave, amid widespread challenges.

The second phase began on Saturday, with civil defense crews working alongside teams from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in the hope of retrieving bodies that have remained trapped under the debris for months.

The operation comes eight months after a ceasefire between Israel and Palestinian armed groups in the Gaza Strip took effect.
