Civilian injured after Saudi-backed forces’ attack in Seiyun

HADRAMOUT, June 23 (YPA) – At least one civilian was injured on Tuesday after Saudi-backed forces stormed residential neighborhoods in Seiyun city of Hadramout province, eastern Yemen.

Local sources said members of the Saudi-funded “Emergency Forces” raided several homes and opened fire in residential areas, resulting in the injury of a civilian who was transferred to a local hospital for treatment.

The operation caused panic among residents, particularly women and children. Sources added that the forces later carried out a campaign of arrests targeting individuals accused of participating in protests that took place in Seiyun last Saturday.

Videos circulated on social media purportedly showed armed personnel firing live ammunition inside residential districts, while residents appealed for assistance. The reasons behind the operation were not immediately clear.
