Qatar: 18 missing and 54 injured in Ras Laffan industrial explosion

DOHA, June 22 (YPA) – The Qatari Ministry of Interior announced on Monday that 18 people are missing and 54 others were injured following an explosion at a factory in the Ras Laffan Industrial City.

 In a post on the platform “X,” the ministry said that the total number of injured in the incident reached 54 people.

 It added that the Qatari International Search and Rescue Group of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), in coordination with civil defense teams, is continuing search operations for the 18 missing individuals.

 On Sunday evening, the Interior Ministry had stated that several people were injured due to an explosion caused by a technical malfunction during operations at one of the factories in Ras Laffan Industrial City, emphasizing that no hazardous leaks threatening safety had occurred.
