BEIRUT, June 14 (YPA) – The death toll from an Israeli occupation airstrike that targeted the Al-Ghobeiry area in Beirut’s southern suburbs on Sunday has risen to three people, with 15 others reported injured, according to updated figures from Lebanese authorities.
Lebanese media said search-and-rescue operations remain ongoing at the strike site, where emergency teams continue clearing rubble from damaged buildings.
The Israeli attack also caused extensive destruction to nearby residential and commercial properties.
The Lebanese Civil Defense said its crews have been conducting rescue and recovery efforts since the strike occurred, recovering three bodies from beneath the debris and transporting several injured people to hospitals for treatment.
The occupation’s airstrike targeted an apartment near the Kilkas bakery along the road linking Mishrifiyeh and the Airport Bridge area. Initial reports had indicated one fatality and four injuries before the casualty toll was revised upward as rescue operations progressed.
