5 Indian soldiers killed in military plane crash

NEW DELHI, June 13 (YPA) – Five Indian soldiers were killed on Saturday when an An-32 military transport plane crashed while attempting to land at Jorhat Air Force Base in the northeast of the country.

The Indian Army expressed its regret over the accident and offered condolences to the families of the victims, without disclosing further details, stating that investigations are still underway.

The army had previously announced the crash without specifying the cause, confirming that an official investigation had been launched to determine the circumstances.

This incident follows a similar one in 2019, when a plane of the same type crashed after taking off from the same base, killing all 13 people on board.
