Two missing, one injured in US attack on Indian ship off Oman

LONDON, June 10 (YPA) – A Palau-flagged chemical and product tanker was struck by a missile attack off the coast of Oman (approximately 20 nautical miles northeast of Sohar Port), leaving two crew members missing, another injured, and causing a fire in the engine room.

Maritime security sources, including the British firm “Ambrey,” assess that the strike was likely carried out by a US missile linked to operations and the ongoing blockade imposed on Iranian ports.

The tanker was carrying 28 crew members (including 24 Indian nationals). Indian authorities are currently verifying the identities of the missing individuals.

The incident comes amid escalating security tensions in strategic maritime corridors, fueling growing concerns over their impact on international shipping and global trade.
