Israeli settlers destroy irrigation network, water facilities southeast Bethlehem

BETHKEHEM, June 08 (YPA) – Israeli settlers destroyed on Monday an irrigation network in the Khala’il al-Luz area, southeast of Bethlehem.

Palestinian citizen Asaad Muhammad Suwaiss said that dozens of settlers broke into his land, which belongs to him and his brothers Awad and Yusuf, after cutting the surrounding barbed wire.

They destroyed the water network used to irrigate crops, emptied a drinking-water well with a capacity of approximately 250 cubic meters, drained a water collection reservoir, and stole water valves connected to the system.

Suwaiss noted that settler attacks against his family have become increasingly frequent recently, including assaulting him and breaking one of his fingers, destroying crops, stealing pigeons and chickens, and trespassing into the family’s irrigation reservoir.
