Mojtaba Khamenei: We were able to thwart the enemy’s plots and we will not back down from our position on “Israel”
TEHRAN, June 04 (YPA) – Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, stated on Thursday that the country has successfully countered external plots aimed at destabilizing its internal unity, affirming that “Tehran will not alter its stance regarding Israel.”
In a message marking the 37th anniversary of the passing of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic, Khamenei described “Israel” as a military outpost established by global powers, reiterating Iran’s long-standing position toward the Israeli entity.
“We have managed to thwart the enemy’s schemes,” Khamenei said in the statement, adding that any attempt to foster domestic pessimism aligns with the goals of foreign aggression. He noted that external adversaries have consistently sought to erode public resilience and sow internal divisions within Iran.
The Iranian leader emphasized that the public remains committed to the regional “Axis of Resistance,” a network of allied state and non-state actors supported by Tehran. He credited this alignment to the legacy of Ayatollah Khomeini and the late Ali Khamenei, whom he praised for mobilizing the country’s strategic capacities.
Reflecting on the historical significance of the Islamic Revolution, Khamenei questioned what alternative force could have mobilized millions of Iranians during key historical turning points, specifically citing the June 1963 protests (15 Khordad 1342) and the mass gatherings during Khomeini’s return in 1979 and his subsequent funeral in 1989.
Khamenei concluded his address by extending greetings to Muslims observing the Eid al-Ghadir holiday, calling the anniversary of Khomeini’s death a vital opportunity to examine his legacy and strategic vision for the future of the Islamic Republic.
