New Zealand imposes travel ban on 3 Israelis over settlement

WELLINGTON, June 02 (YPA) – The New Zealand Foreign Minister, Winston Peters declared that New Zealand has imposed travel bans on three Israeli occupation’s settlers accused of involvement in expanding settlements in the occupied West Bank.

According to a statement published by the New Zealand government, the sanctions target Itamar Yehuda Levi, Harel David Libi, and Eliav Libi, whom Peters described as “extremist Israeli settlers” actively engaged in the expansion of settlements.

Peters said such activities threaten peace and security for both Israelis and Palestinians and reiterated New Zealand’s longstanding position that Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories are contrary to international law.

He added that continued settlement expansion and related violence undermine prospects for a two-state solution, stressing that a negotiated settlement remains the only path to achieving lasting peace, security, and prosperity for both sides.
