Lebanon resistance reveals details of clashes around Al-Shaqif Castle

BEIRUT, June 01 (YPA) – The Lebanese resistance said it is continuing as a war of attrition against Israeli occupation forces deployed near Al-Shaqif Castle, adding that video footage will be released to document developments on the ground.

According to the resistance, the occupation forces carried out intensive operations around the town of Yahmar Al-Shaqif for more than five days before their presence became confined to the town’s rugged eastern outskirts amid ongoing confrontations.

The statement further added that an Israeli infantry unit entered Al-Shaqif Castle under the cover of smoke in order to take photographs and project control over the site, despite the absence of resistance fighters inside the castle itself.

It also asserted that Israeli troops have encountered significant difficulties in consolidating their positions near the area below the castle, where clashes and military pressure continue.
