Gaza Health Ministry: Death toll from Israeli genocide rises to 72,938; with 930 killed since ceasefire

GAZA, May 31 (YPA) – The Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced on Sunday that the total death toll from the ongoing Israeli aggression since October 7, 2023, has risen to 72,938 martyrs and 172,927 injured.

This comes after the admission of one new martyr and 8 wounded to hospitals over the past 24 hours.

In its daily statistical report, the ministry noted that the casualties during the days of Eid al-Adha reached 33 martyrs and over 130 injured. Regarding Israeli occupation violations since the ceasefire took effect (on October 11), the number of fatalities from occupation fire has risen to 930 martyrs (781 bodies of whom have been recovered) alongside 2,819 injured.

The ministry emphasized that a number of victims remain trapped under the rubble and on the roads, as ambulance and civil defense crews are still unable to reach them.
