El-Sisi criticized over investment invites to French shipper linked to Israeli military supplies

CAIRO, May 20 (YPA) – Egyptian critics have condemned President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for inviting French shipping giant “CMA CGM” to expand its footprint in Egyptian ports and the Suez Canal Economic Zone.

The backlash follows El-Sisi’s meeting with the company’s chairman, Rodolphe Saadé, during the France-Africa summit in Kenya.

The criticism centers on the company’s extensive commercial ties with Israeli occupation and its continued operations at the ports of Ashdod and Haifa despite escalating regional conflicts.

CMA CGM, one of the world’s largest container shipping lines, faces scrutiny over its role in transporting military equipment and supplies to Israeli occupation forces.
