Gaza health ministry reveals hundreds martyred since ceasefire

GAZA, May 20 (YPA) – The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced on Wednesday that hospitals in the Gaza Strip received one fatality and 16 injured people over the past 24 hours, amid the continuing genocidal war by the Israeli occupation in the Strip.

In a statement, the ministry said a number of victims remain trapped under rubble or stranded in inaccessible areas, as ambulance and civil defense teams continue to face difficulties reaching them due to ongoing bombardment and extensive infrastructure damage.

The ministry added that since the ceasefire on October 10, the number of fatalities has reached 881, with 2,621 injuries recorded, while rescue teams have recovered 776 bodies during the same period.

According to the ministry’s cumulative figures, the overall death toll in Gaza since October 7, 2023, has risen to 72,773, with 172,723 injuries reported.
