TEHRAN, May 19 (YPA) – Iran’s President, Masoud Pezeshkian, affirmed on Monday that engaging in dialogue does not mean surrendering rights, stressing that Tehran will never retreat from what it considers the legitimate rights of Iran and its people.
In a post published on the “X” platform, Pezeshkian stated that Iran enters negotiations “with pride and capability” while maintaining its commitment to protecting the rights of the Iranian people.
“We will continue, with logic and full determination, until the last breath, to serve our people and safeguard Iran’s interests and dignity,” he said.
The remarks come amid heightened regional tensions following the military confrontation that erupted on February 28 between Iran, the United States, and Israeli entity, which lasted for 40 days and resulted in heavy casualties and damage to civilian infrastructure, according to Iranian accounts.
In response to the attacks, Iran announced the launch of Operation “True Promise 4,” targeting Israeli positions and U.S. bases in the region.
