DHAMAR, May 17 (YPA) – The Seismological and Volcanological Observatory Center in Dhamar Governorate recorded two consecutive earthquakes early Saturday morning southwest of Sanaa Governorate, following three earthquakes recorded in Dhamar last week.
The seismic bulletin issued by the center confirmed that the first tremor measured 2.6 on the Richter scale at 1:35 AM, at a depth of 4 km.
The bulletin added that the second tremor struck the same area at 3:12 AM, measuring 2.0 on the Richter scale at a depth of 8 km, classifying both tremors as minor.
This seismic activity follows three separate earthquakes recorded by the center last week. The first occurred last Tuesday, measuring 2.3 on the Richter scale at a depth of 3 km northwest of Dhamar.
