GAZA, May 16 (YPA) – The Al-Haddad family in the Gaza Strip announced on Saturday the martyrdom of Izz al-Din Al-Haddad, a top commander in al-Qassam Brigades, along with his wife and daughter, following an Israeli occupation’s airstrike in Gaza City on Friday.
According to the Palestinian Sanad News Agency, funeral prayers for Al-Haddad, also known as “Abu Suhaib,” were held in Gaza City before his burial. Local reports said mosques in the city announced his death through loudspeakers.
Palestinian sources stated that Al-Haddad’s sons, Suhaib and Momen, had previously been killed during the ongoing conflict in Gaza before the martyrdom of their father and other family members in Friday’s strike.
On Friday evening, at least seven Palestinians were martyred in two separate occupation airstrikes targeting a residential apartment and a civilian vehicle in Gaza City, according to local sources.
Witnesses said the occupation’s warplanes struck an inhabited apartment in the Rimal neighborhood west of Gaza City, causing casualties and sparking a fire inside the building, before another strike targeted a civilian vehicle elsewhere in the city.
