Canada responds to expelling its ambassador from Saudi Arabia

SANAA, Aug. 6 (YPA) – In a response to the act of expelling Canadian ambassador from Saudi Authorities over criticizing them to release all the civil society activists, the Canadian government stressed that it will not give up its efforts to protect human rights.

In a statement obtained by Yemen Press Agency (YPA), the spokeswomen of the Canadian government expressed concern over the measures were taken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

“Canada will always stand up for the protection of human rights, very much including women’s rights and freedom of expression around the world,”  Marie-Pier Baril said, adding that, “the government will never hesitate to promote these values and believes that this dialogue is critical to international diplomacy.

Saudi Arabia said on Sunday ordered Canada’s ambassador to leave the country and freezing all ties with Canada over a disagreement over the arresting of human rights activists in Saudi Arabia.
