Israeli strikes across Lebanon kill 25 despite ceasefire

BEIRUT, May 10 (YPA) – Israeli occupation  military strikes across Lebanon killed 25 people and wounded 108 others on Saturday, Lebanon’s state news agency reported, despite a ceasefire that has been in place since April 17.

Israeli warplanes carried out airstrikes on Beirut’s southern suburbs and other areas across Lebanon, including artillery shelling, house demolitions, sweeping operations and border clashes, in what Lebanese media described as new violations of the truce.

In southern Lebanon, seven people were killed and 15 wounded in Israeli airstrike on the town of Saksakiyeh in the Sidon district.

Three others were killed when an Israeli strike hit a vehicle on the road between the towns of Abbasiyah and Burj Rahal in Tyre district.

Another three people were killed in a strike on a building in the Bayyad neighbourhood of Nabatieh city, while two people were killed in a drone strike on the Nabatieh road near al-Sabah Secondary School.

One person was killed in a strike targeting a motorcycle on the main road between the towns of Toul and Doueir in the Nabatieh district, while another was killed in a drone strike on the al-Masarib neighbourhood in the town of Meifdoun.

Additional strikes targeting the towns of Haris in the Nabatieh district, the town of Bedias in the Tyre district, Marwaniyeh, Nabatieh al-Fawqa and the Kfartebnit roundabout killed two people and wounded several others.

In central Lebanon, six people were killed in strikes targeting the Chouf district. Others were wounded in two strikes targeting vehicles on a coastal highway south of Beirut.

In eastern Lebanon, Israeli aircraft carried out two strikes on the town of Qalia and its outskirts in the western Bekaa Valley.
