BEIRUT, May 05 (YPA) – Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Health said on Tuesday that 17 people were killed in Israeli airstrikes over the past 24 hours.
In a statement, the ministry added that the death toll has reached 2,696 since March 2, with 8,264 people wounded.
It added that attacks on the health sector have increased, with 132 incidents recorded targeting ambulance and rescue teams. These attacks have caused dozens of casualties and the destruction of medical centers, ambulances, and rescue vehicles.
On the ground, Israeli warplanes continued to strike several areas in southern Lebanon, hitting more than 20 locations, including towns that had been ordered to evacuate earlier.
Local sources also reported that Israeli forces issued evacuation alerts for six villages in south Lebanon, warning residents to leave ahead of expected strikes.
