MARIB, April 30 (YPA) – The command of the Third Military Region in Marib, reportedly affiliated with the Islah Party in the city of Marib, has arrested the commander of Al-Aazm Brigade,” Mohsen bin Ali Al-Qabli Nimran, a prominent tribal figure from Murad, and placed him in a military police detention cell.
Human rights sources revealed that Nimran’s detention has entered its second day, carried out under direct orders from regional commander Mansour Thawabah.
The arrest reportedly came after he demanded the payment of allegedly looted financial entitlements owed to soldiers of Al-Aazm Brigade, in a move described as a “serious affront” that crossed all red lines.
The incident has sparked widespread anger among the brigade’s soldiers, who view their commander’s imprisonment as a personal insult.
They have threatened to take up arms over what they call the looting of their entitlements, demanding Nimran’s release.
The soldiers stated that the humiliation inflicted on Nimran will not go unanswered, adding that ongoing policies of neglect and systematic looting have reached an intolerable level of abuse.
Meanwhile, the response of Murad tribesmen in Marib has drawn widespread scrutiny and criticism, amid what observers describe as an unprecedented silence and apparent submission to the humiliation of one of their leading figures by Islah leadership, reportedly for refusing to comply with its military authorities.
