HADRAMOUT, April 28 (YPA) – A driver was shot by two unidentified assailants on Tuesday in the city of Al-Shihr, amid continuing security instability in areas of Hadramout province.
A local source said the attackers, who were reportedly travelling in a car, opened fire on a bus while it was parked near a commercial market in the city.
According to the source, the driver was then directly targeted with gunfire before being pursued by two armed men, who took him to another location following the attack.
The assailants were later able to flee to an unknown destination, while the incident caused panic among shoppers and residents in the surrounding market area.
The shooting came amid a broader pattern of security disorder, armed violence, and targeted attacks reported in Hadramout and other southern provinces, where governance and law enforcement challenges have persisted for years.
